Mehmet Aipov
Mehmet Aipov (Tatar: Мәхмүт Аипов; 12 July 1920-22 April 1945) was a Tatar Red Army Soldier who fought during World War II. Aipov was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union for actions during the Battle of Berlin.
== Early life ==
Aipov was born on 12 July 1920 to a peasant family in the village of Kiryushkin in Simbirsk Governorate in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. His family moved to Kostychev village when he was still a child. Aipov received primary education and worked as a mechanic on the Kuybyshev Railway depot at Oktyabrsk.〔
